Gajar Ka Halwa
Indian dessert made from carrots.
Ingredients:
- Carrots (grated) – 1/2 kg
- Pure ghee – 2 tbsp
- Boiled milk – 1 cup
- Khoya/ condensed milk/ malai – 3 – 4 tbsp
- Sugar – 8-9 tbsp
- Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp (optional)
- Cashew nut pieces – 2 tbsp
- Almonds for garnish
Procedure:
- Heat pure ghee in a cooking pan and add carrot, stir fry.
- Add 1 cup boiled milk and cook till it gets dried.
- Now add condensed milk/ khoya/ malai and cashew nuts, stir for 5 min.
- Now add sugar and cook for 5 min.
- Take it off the fire.
- Add cardamom powder, mix well.
- Garnish with grated almonds.
- Serve hot or at room tamperature.
- If you are using condensed milk, then sugar required will be 7 tbsp.
- If you want to make it more rich, use more khoya.
