Idli Chilli
Idli Chilli is an Indian Chinese starter. It can be served as an evening tea time snack too.
Serves: 3
Ingredients:
- Idlis (leftover) – 8 to 10
- Onion (diced)- 1 big
- Capsicum / Bell pepper (diced) – 1
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Garlic (chopped) – 6 to 8 cloves
- Green chillies (chopped) – 2
- Soya sauce – 1.5 tablespoon approximately
- Tomato ketchup – 1.5 tablespoon
- Red chilly sauce – 1 teaspoon
- Spring onion greens for garnishing
- Oil – 2 tbsp + for deep frying
- Sugar to taste
- Salt to taste
- Cut idlis into cubes and deep fry till golden brown and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a wok or pan, add ginger garlic paste, chopped garlic and green chillies.
- Now add onion, fry till translucent.
- Add bell peppers, fry for a minute.
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt and add sauces.
- Add 1 tablespoon water and pinch of sugar, mix well.
- Now add fried idli cubes and coat them with sauce nicely.
- Garnish with chopped spring onion( I have not used) and serve.
