Split Wheat Halwa

Sweet dish made from split wheat with mango flavour.
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- Split wheat (lapsi rawa) – 1 cup
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Milk – 1 cup
- Water – 3 cups
- Mango pulp (fresh/canned) – 3 tbsp
- Ghee – 4 tbsp
- Pineapple essence – 1/4 tsp
- Edible Saffron colour – a pinch
- Salt – a pinch
- Dry fruits for garnishing.
Procedure:
- Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a thick bottomed pan.
- Add split wheat and stir fry till it gives out aroma.
- Boil water and milk together.
- Add it to the split wheat; cover and cook on low flame.
- Once it gets almost cooked and dries; add sugar, mango pulp, salt and colour dissolved in water.
- Mix well and simmer for 5 -7 min.
- Add remaining ghee and pineapple essence.
- Put off the flame.
- Mix well and keep it covered for sometime. (It will be dry after sometime)
- Garnish with dry fruits and serve.
