Veg Pulav
Ingredients:
- Rice – 1 cup
- Carrots (julienned)- 1/2 cup
- French beans (shredded) – 1/2 cup
- Shelled peas – 1/4 cup
- Cloves – 5
- Cinnamon – 1″ 2 pieces
- Bayleaf – 1
- Cardamom – 2
- Peppercorns – 5
- Cumin seeds – a pinch (optional)
- Oil – 1.5 to 2 tbsp
- Water – 2 cups
- Salt to taste
Procedure:
- Wash and drain rice, keep it aside for 15 min.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add spices.
- Add rice and peas, stir fry for 5 to 7 min.
- Add vegetables and stir fry for 2 min.
- Add hot water to it and salt, pressure cook till 2 whistles.
- Serve hot.
