Simple Dal Fry
Ingredients:
- Toor dal- 1.5 tbsp
- Moong dal – 1.5 tbsp
- Onion (chopped) – 1 small
- Green chilly (chopped) – 1 small
- Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Ginger Garlic paste – 3/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder – less than 1/4 tsp
- Vanaspati/Pure ghee- 1 to 1.5 tbsp
- Corriander leaves (chopped) – 1tsp
- Salt to taste
Procedure:
- Wash dals and pressure cook tills 7-8 whistles, keep aside.
- Heat ghee in pan and add cumin seeds.
- Add onion before cumin seeds crackle.
- Stir fry for 2 min.
- Add ginger garlic paste and green chilly, stir fry for a min.
- Add turmeric powder and cooked dal.
- Add water and salt as per your requirement, simmer for 2-3 min.
- Garnish with corriander leaves.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
Tip:
- You may add tomato too.
- You may use only moong dal or only toor dal or add chana dal (soaked) to both these dals.
