Tomato Omelette
Ingredients:
- Dosa/Uttapam batter – 1 cup
- Besan – 1/2 cup
- Onion (chopped) – 1 medium
- Tomato (chopped) – 1 medium
- Green chilly (chopped) – 1
- Corriander leaves (chopped) – 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/3 tsp
- Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Chilly powder – 1/4 tsp
- Oil/ ghee for frying
Procedure:
- Take a mixing bowl and mix all the ingredients except ghee, add water.
- Heat a greased non stick frying pan, lower the flame and spread 2 ladleful batter evenly. It shouldn’t be thin.
- Initially, flame should be high for 10 seconds. Pour ghee around the edges, cover with a dosa lid and keep on medium flame for 45 seconds.
- Pour ghee on top and flip over.
- Fry for 30 seconds on high flame.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
Tip:
- It is prepared with only besan, but this preparation is often served in Udupi restaurants. This preparation with dosa batter can also be referred as uttapam.
