Shahi Tukda
Measurement: 1 Cup = 180 ml
Serves: 2 to 3
Ingredients:
- Bread slices – 4
- Sugar – 3 tbsp
- Water – 1/4 cup
- Condensed milk – 1/2 cup
- Milk – 1/2 cup
- Saffron strands – a few
- Rose essence – 2 to 3 drops or Cardamom powder for flavouring
- Pure ghee for frying or toasting
- Almonds and pistachios for garnishing
- Combine water and sugar in a saucepan and make sugar syrup (not thick).
- Put off the flame and add rose essence or cardamom powder.
- Soak saffron strands in milk.
- Combine milk and condensed milk in a mixing bowl.
- Cut the edges of the bread slices and cut them into triangles.
- Fry or toast the bread triangles.
- Place bread triangles on a plate and sprinkle sugar syrup over them.
- Place them on a serving dish and pour milk mixture.
- Garnish with almonds and pistachios.
- Serve hot / at room temperature / chilled.
